Cheer Camp July 2011

The week after the fourth of July my girls went to a cheerleader camp. Later we realized it was like VBS slash sports camp. But none the less great all around.  It was awesome for Kaitlyn.  She had real colligate cheerleaders teaching her the "real" jumps.  Kaitlyn's favorite was the star jump. She can get some serious air.  Kaitlyn was in the same group as 3 of her other cousins. Mckayla Lofts (8), Alaynee Lofts (6) and Jayden Anderson (6).

This cheer was called "Go The Distance"
McKayla and Kaitlyn were showing us the first cheer they learned :)

shake those pom poms!

Check out that soaring STAR jump.
You can tell she's got her whole heart in that jump.

All the older girls did relays to show strength skills they learned.  Kaitlyn, was awesome!  She unfortunately was in a very slow group but she gave it her all.  She crab walked, leaped through the air like a cheetah, skipped, hopped on one foot and a few others I didn't get to see.  I was racing between watching the older cheer group and the younger cheer group which were happening simotaneously.

clowning around ;)

Abi's experience wasn't as "authentic" because she was just under the cut off age for the older group of girls.  Major Bummer! Her leader was a guy cheerleader.  Not that that had much weight. Abi loves men. Sometimes I think she listens better to them.  By the last day she was singing her song she learned and doing the punching moves to the song she learned. Fight fight fight! She told me when we were leaving that she really liked her teacher because he gave her papers to take home.  I think she may be 1/2 human and half packrat.  She loves shinny things and gathers and stashes any kind of papers, small jewels, beads or misc. coupons she may have got her hands on.  Coupons are however just like money. She is one smart girl.

Abigail having fun in her group.
She insisted on wearing this flashy outfit so her legs would not get cold.

Singing up front for the performance.  It was hard to see her :(

Hannah found a ball from the kids basketball camp.

And you wonder...

what did Hannah and mom do while the girls were at camp for 3 hours?

Oh yeah.. sliding and climbing and see-sawing oh my!

and spending time with cousin baby brant...

 and Blakey of course.

Fun on the Fourth

The fourth was a perfectly sunny day.

Abigail and Ez enjoyed the morning on our freshly stained deck.

And my two pretty girls with fourth of july hair

At Jazzercize that morning mom won a star balloon and cool fourth of july cupcakes.
Thank you Jazzercise!

Cupcakes are Abigail's favorite dessert.

Later that day, we went to a potluck at Sophie & Josh Hartly's house.
Josh has the best fireworks show in all of Oregon. He is quite the pyro.

Talk about over stimulation. A little cotton candy with a sparkler!  I think she is in heaven.

Abi thought they were pretty great too.  Last year she wasn't to sure.

Hannah liked it until a spark hit her little foot.

The fourth will always be happily celebrated
Let freedom ring and ring and ring....

Our Favorite Tree

It is shameful how long it has been since I last posted. Preoccupied with moving, moving in, and readjusting to life and fixing up the apartment over the Garage has been keeping us all to busy.

One of our favorite things about our new house is all of the beautiful things blooming in the yard. (Especially because Grandma Donna Lane planted many of them)  The girls love the tree outside the office window.  You can climb it, shake it, and it has pretty pink flowers. What's not to like?

This is what my kids do when I tell them to get ready to take a picture.

Now that's a keeper. Smiles all around:)

I love this picture.  Especially the look on Kaitlyn's face what a tree hugger!
